According to ‘Vogue’, this season, women can experiment with the braided hair; pretty plaits lend feminine touch to the spring flowery clothes you shall wear. Yet another trend that’s going to work is loose air-dried lengths with a hint of bend at the ends.
According to ‘Vogue’, this season, women can experiment with the braided hair; pretty plaits lend feminine touch to the spring flowery clothes you shall wear. Yet another trend that’s going to work is loose air-dried lengths with a hint of bend at the ends.
But what do you do if you have short hair. Not a thing to worry because the successful Bob of the 2014s has remained to be the favourite trend this season too. H a v e n ’ t you seen celebrities across the world sporting a variety of bobs, each one better than the other? Hollywood star Selena Gomez’s latest cut, a trifle longer face-framing, textured look is similar to 'Rachel', Jennifer Aniston's character in the hit US sitcom "Friends".
Even Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (acted in the Transformers: Dark of the Moon), who had worn her hair mostly long till now, cut down her hair and is now sporting a chic textured lob with a whole lot of movement. The ever adventurous, Nicole Richie who seems to have taken the trend of bright colours seriously, and has already experimented with blue and purple for her hair, is now sporting a smart Bob in bright pink hue.
And she looks ravishing, nevertheless. After all, style and fashion is all about carrying it with elan. Closer home Hindi film actress Sonkashi Sinha sports what’s these days known as a Lob – word for a longer bob. Sonakshi’s Lob may be a little longer than the regular standard, but who cares so long as she looks extremely stylish. Another popular Hindi actress Anushka Sharma, thanks to her look in the film “PK” has had a classic Aline bob and she does look a class apart.
We feel that the Bob is here to stay for some time now as we see the fashion icons one after the other saying goodbye to long hair and going for shoulder length tresses in a myriad forms. There are all kinds of Bobs happening around.
Blunt Bob, where you look like you cut your hair two minutes ago – no fancy layers; Asymmetrical Bob, which is similar to A- line but gets longer towards the front, and unequal on both ends; Textured Bob – a tousled haircut for wavy, curly hair that proves that Bob need not always be the privilege of straight haired people; Lob that just falls short of the shoulders, unlike Bob that hardly crosses the jawline and the classic A –line, are just a few of the many amazing ways you can sport your Bob.
Just a few tips here for those who are switching to the famous Bob – Use a volume spray and coat the hair when it is still damp to keep the shape of your hair and a quick blow dry is all it needs. For curly hair, a few extra layers cut into the bob will make sure there is no unwanted volume and for thin hair, it the other way round. Fewer layers added to the crown give the volume effect.
Most importantly for women with longer hair, Bob can be a huge change. So pin up your hair for the desired Bob look, try to see if it suits you and only when you like it so much that you can say good bye to your long tresses is when you go ahead and use the scissors.
