Chandoo Mondeti to direct Naga Chaitanya

Actor Naga Chaitanya seems to be the go to actor for directors who have just started their careers.After Vijay Kumar Konda and Sudheer Varma both of whose first films triumphed at the box office before they went on to direct the actor- ‘Karthikeya’ director Chandoo Mondeti is the latest who is likely to direct the star.

A source says, “The director held discussions with the actor sometime back and is currently travelling with him camping in Annapurna Seven Acres.Chaitanya, in fact, liked the three threads that Chandoo narrated. He has asked the director to develop the one which dwells on the relationship between a father and a son and is interspersed with thriller elements.”

The source adds that the film might well be produced by Chaitanya himself on Annapurna Studios. “Though Lagadapati Sridhar is waiting in the wings to produce a film with Chaitanya, this project is expected to be bankrolled by Annapurna.”The source says that Chandoo already has a team in place.

“’Karthikeya’ cinematographer Karthik Ghattamaneni who is best friends with the director will wield the lens for the project while an A-lister will compose the soundtrack.”The film, we hear, will go on to floors once Chaitanya is through with Sudheer Varma’s yet-untitled flick.
