Court approves MAA polling, withholds counting

The highly controversial elections to the high profile Movie Artists Association top post got a go ahead from the court.

Dismissing a petition by a small time actor O.Kalyan that the elections should be postponed, the Nampally court however ruled that the outcome of the elections be kept under abeyance till further notice in view of the heat and dust it has raised in Tollywood circles.

The court also directed that the MAA authorities ensure video taping of the election process and to plug any loopholes and malpractices as the poll and the campaign has almost virtually divided the community of movie artists.
