The judicial intervention came in the wake of complaint by an actor against the former president of MAA Murali Mohan and the court had refused to without polling but stayed the announcement of the results.

It's public knowledge that the MAA elections divided the entire Tollywood industry and only 394 of the 702 members had participated and voted in the elections. The Contest that was expected to be unanimous with comedian actor Rajendra Prasad as the President for the current year had taken a new twist with the entry of actress Jayasudha as a challenger.
