Varun makes the cut. That Kriti Sanon is a part of the movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Half Girlfriend’ is old news. But the latest buzz surrounding the film is that Varun Dhawan has been signed to star opposite the actress.

Ekta Kapoor had purchased the right of the book last year. However, at that juncture, it wasn’t clear who was going to be the male lead. But reports suggest that the producer had Varun in her mind all along.
The film is expected to go on floors in June or July, 2016 as Ekta wants to complete work on other projects. Mohit Suri will be directing the romantic drama while Chetan Bhagat will be overlooking the script.
Interestingly, Varun and Kriti are also working together in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ which co-stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
