Sakshi Tanwar to play Aamir’s wife in Dangal

Sakshi Tanwar, well known for her role of Parvati in ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’, will be playing superstar Aamir Khan’s wife in ‘Dangal’, a biopic based on the life of acclaimed wrestler Mahavir Phogat. For the Nitesh Tiwari film, she was zeroed upon from a pool of over 70 actresses.

It is learnt that Aamir and his team wanted a newcomer for the role but ended up roping in the popular TV actress after hectic parleys. The actress, who was recently seen in the controversial trailer of ‘Mohalla Assi’, belting out cuss words like a pro, will undergo intense training sessions to get the diction (Haryanvi), and body language right.

The four actresses playing the younger and older versions of Mahavir's daughters -- Fatima Shaikh and Zaira Wasim as Geeta, Sanya Malhotra and Suhani Bhatnagar as Babita -- are already training hard for their roles. ‘Heropanti’ actor Vikram Singh and Rajkummar Rao are also a part of the cast.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has majorly bulked up to play Mahavir Phogat and is tipping the scales at over 90 kilos. He's also going to have to lose the extra poundage to shoot scenes of Phogat as a young man. ‘Dangal’s production will kick-off shortly and it will release in December 2016.
