In what could be termed as a strange act, an elephant in Kerala falls asleep while listening to Ilayaraja songs.
The elephant which is reportedly suffering from insomnia only goes to deep sleep when his master sings Alliyilam Poovo, a famous lullaby song from 1984 movie Mangalam Nerunnu.
The man caressing the elephant and singing the song has gone viral on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Sreekumar, a 40-year-old mahout says "many efforts are made to get the elephant into sleep but none were succeeded. But when whispered the song caressing the elephant, it went asleep."
