Meanwhile, a noted Telugu producer is releasing the Telugu version of Rajinikanth’s upcoming action adventure in the two Telugu states. Earlier, Ashok has released dubbed films like ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Nawab’ and tasted success. This would be his third film and he is aiming to score a hat-trick. Accordingly, the producer is planning for a grand release in the Telugu states.
‘Petta’ is the first combination of Rajinikanth with young director Karthik Subbaraj. Simran, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha and Megha Akash are playing important roles in the movie. Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is making his debut in the South with this film. It is a mass entertainer and has music by Anirudh Ravichander and its release date is confirmed on January 10, amidst big ticket films of Telugu stars like Ram Charan, Balakrishna and Venkatesh. Actually, the Tamil star redeemed himself in the two Telugu states with his latest film ‘2.0’ which garnered more than Rs 50 crore after a series of duds like ‘Lingaa’ and ‘Kaala’.
