Suryapet: It has been proved time and again that some of the great innovators were dropouts or had no formal education at all. While some of those who have high educational qualifications are struggling to find a rewarding calling, some others are taking up petty jobs to make their both ends meet.
But the case of Saidachary is one of its kind. This unlettered youth, who hails from a small village Kandagatla in Atmakur mandal of Suryapet district is fast making those learnt ones hang their heads in shame. His effective inventions, in spite of receiving no education, turn out be a great help for the poor farmers who are unable to afford costly machines for their needs.
As a result of his mechanical aptitude, Saidachary has already developed many machines highly useful in agricultural activities. His interest in making agriculture implements right from childhood helped him invent many products like flour mill, chilli powder mill, tractor-operated generators, small tillers, bullock carts, weeders, fans used in winnowing, crane used to extricate motor fell into a bore-well and so on.
In fact, to extricate a submersible pump collapsed in a bore-well, it would require at least 10 persons toil hard for four hours. However, using the crane designed by Saidachary, two persons are enough to extricate it in an hour. Even by spending lakhs of rupees, one finds no such equipment in the open market, but Saidachary-designed crane can be had for a paltry sum of Rs 8,000.
He also designed several implements for the benefit of farmers to level the land, to apply fertilizers and to till the land at an affordable price. Farmers who purchased the implements from him are expressing happiness as the equipments are not only cost-effective but also time saving. Saidachary is exuding confidence to produce many more useful implements provided the State government extends him necessary financial support.
