Hyderabad: In a ghastly incident, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Pedda Kamela in RTC colony under Trimulgherry police station limits.
The alleged culprit has been identified as Girish, 55, a carpenter from RTC colony and hails from Uttar Pradesh. He has been staying as a tenant with his family in the building where the victim also stays.
“Last week, the victim was alone as her parents had left for work. Taking advantage of that, he lured the girl and raped her. The victim was sent to hospital for medical examination,” said P Ravi Kiran, Trimulgherry inspector.
The minor did not reveal the incident to her father the same day, but the crime came to light when she was taken to hospital after she complained of stomach ache, Kiran said. Based on a complaint by the victim’s father, a case was booked against Girish under Sections 376 (1) (Rape) of the IPC, Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act 2012 and Nirbhaya Act 2013. He will be produced in the court on Wednesday.
