(Medak): A gang of four thieves were taken into custody by the Ramachandrapuram police and 20 tolas of gold and 10 tolas of silver and Rs 10,000 in cash was recovered from them here on Tuesday.
The gang was involved in four thefts under the limits of Ramachandrapuram police station. The arrested persons include R Veeravamshi Naidu of Tirumalagherry in the city, P Ramakrishna of Patancheru, G Srinivas of BHEL and MD Anwar of Indira Nagar colony. Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Circle Inspector of Police Srinivas said that the police had kept a vigil on the movements of these thieves and arrested them.
On Monday evening, they took into custody Vamshi Naidu who was moving under suspicious circumstances during a routine inspection of vehicles at the BHEL junction. On being interrogated, Vamsi revealed the names and whereabouts of the other thieves who were also taken into custody.
