Photo: HANSWarangal: An inter-district thief was nabbed by the rural police at Thorrur in Warangal district on Saturday and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 26 lakh from his possession. Rural superintendent of police Lella Kalidas has produced the accused called as Angadi Suresh before media at the district police headquarters. He informed that gold ornaments weighing 79.6 tulas and 2.43 kilograms of silver ornaments were recovered from him.

The accused, a professional offender belonging Rajulakothapalli village of Nellikuduru mandal in Warangal district, was involved in 25 cases in Khammam, Warangal and Nalgonda districts. Habituated to luxurious lifestyle, he began breaking into houses and snatching chains from women along with his accomplices called Ramnarasaiah and Chinanarasaiah belonging to Amangal village in Mahabubabad mandal. The duo was at large and man hunt was on to nab them. SP Kalidas said the offender confessed to his crimes and revealed that he committed thefts due to unemployment and claimed to live a normal life if employment was provided. The police would help him get a loan for an auto-rickshaw soon after he completes his jail term for the crimes he was involved in, the SP said. The SP appreciated the rural CCS inspector N Venkateshwarlu, sub-inspectors Kishan Rao, Md Hasan, Syed Ghouse, head constables Venkat Reddy and Diwakar, constables Istari, Inayath Ali, Vishveshwar, Nazeer and Thorrur SI Karunakar.
