Hyderabad: A 22-year-old woman was strangled to death under Chatrnika police station limits on Tuesday. The police suspected the role of her husband in the murder. Locals spotted her body near Kandikal railway tracks in Chatrinka in the early hours of the day and alerted the police.

According to police, Ruheena Begum was married to Md Moinuddin, 27, a businessman, two years ago and the couple had a four-month-old baby. The couple were residents of Ahmed Colony in Phoolbagh in Chandrayanagutta. “The wife and husband were not on talking terms for the last few weeks and they were on the verge of separation. Parents of the woman alleged that Moinuddin had killed their daughter due to their differences between them,” Chandrayanaguta inspector N Rama Rao said.

The Kachiguda Railway police is investigating the case, “we did not receive any inputs so far,” the inspector said. It has been learnt that the husband was arrested and was charged under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC, sources said. However, police refused to divulge any details.
