Jadcherla (Mahabubnagar): A ZPTC member of the ruling party, Jayaprada, who went to the District Excise Office in the town to demand an explanation for conducting raids and arresting her relatives for selling spurious arrack illegally on Wednesday, suddenly made a U-turn after seeing media persons at the office and praised the excise officials for doing the right thing.

The Excise officials raided few dens and seized 2,000 arrack sachets. Speaking to the media, Jayaprada said that there was nothing wrong in arresting them as they were selling arrack illegally. The replies given by the Mahabubnagar Excise Superintendent Narasimha Reddy and assistant superintendent Naveen Kumar over the number of persons arrested, surprised the media.

While the excise superintendent said that five persons were arrested and one was still at large, the assistant excise superintendent contradicted him and said that six persons were arrested and one person was still at large.
