Three member gang busted
The Chaderghat police here on Friday busted a three-member gang which indulged in selling fake pieces of gold. Police said the accused mortgaged fake gold pieces by stating they had found them on their land. The accused cheated a businessman V Vinod Kumar of Malakpet in the city of Rs 4.5 lakh by pledging the fake gold pieces.

Hyderabad: The Chaderghat police here on Friday busted a three-member gang which indulged in selling fake pieces of gold. Police said the accused mortgaged fake gold pieces by stating they had found them on their land. The accused cheated a businessman V Vinod Kumar of Malakpet in the city of Rs 4.5 lakh by pledging the fake gold pieces.
The principal accused Kumar alias Ramu used to befriend business people. The accused used to produce original gold at first and after gaining confidence of business persons, they pledged the fake gold. On a tip-off that the accused were trying to take a businessman for ride, the Chaderghat police laid a trap and apprehended one of the accused Nagaraju and seized from him two mobile phones and cash of Rs 4 lakh from his possession.
