Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a police constable of Special Protection Force had killed his wife with the help of a friend at his house in Himayatnagar. The incident took place on August 6, but came into light on Thursday, only after the accused, constable Rama Krishna, lodged a complaint with the Narayanguda police about his ‘missing’ wife on August 14.
During the course of investigation, the Narayanguda police tracked the mobile location of the accused constable’s wife, Supriya. The last location of the mobile was traced to Nizamabad and the last text message was received by accused Rama Krishna. “I am going with my friend Arun and don’t bother me,” the message received on the constable’s mobile read.
Later, relatives of the deceased woman were questioned by the police to find out the details of Arun. The woman’s relatives suspected that constable Rama Krishna might have harmed her.. The police then called Rama Krishna for questioning. During the interrogation, he confessed that he killed his wife and buried her in Vikarabad forest.
The police were told that with the help of his friend Pradeep, the accused strangled his wife to death at their home in Himayatnagar. Then they concealed the body in a briefcase, took it to Vikarabad forest and burnt it to wipe out the evidences, Rama Krishna said during interrogation.
In the whole episode, constable Rama Krishna was very careful and tried to evade suspicion on him. While taking the body to dispose of in the forest, he did not carry his mobile phone with him and kept it at home along with his wife’s mobile. After coming back, he gave his wife’s phone to Pradeep and sent him to Nizamabad in a train.
As planned earlier, Pradeep sent a text message from Supriya’s phone to Rama Krishna and then switched off the phone, the police said.He told police that he had differences with his wife and consequently their marital life was on the rocks.. They were married on August 20, 2014 and had no kids.
Based on his confession, the Narayanguda police on Thursday took the accused persons to Vikarabad forest and exhumed the body, with the help of Forensic doctors of Gandhi Hospital. The doctors performed autopsy immediately after exhuming the body and shifted it to Gandhi hospital mortuary.
Central Zone DCP V B Kamalasan Reddy told The Hans India that the accused SPF constable was performing duties at the Reserve Bank of India in Hyderabad on special pay. “They killed Supriya at their home and carried the body to Vikarabad forest and burnt it there. Today, the forensic doctors identified the traces of the decomposed body and the DNA test is being done to establish the identity of Supriya,” the DCP said.
