Hyderabad: An Australian citizen was found dead in her boyfriend’s flat at Tolichowki on Thursday morning, allegedly due to overdose of a drug she was using for asthma. The Golconda police registered a case of ‘suspicious death’ and began an investigation.

According to the police, Linda Margaret Mather, 55, is in the country on a tourist visa issued on February 15 this year. She has been staying in a flat with a Nigerian, Albert Cocker, 30, a resident of Akbarpura locality in Tolichowki over the past 15 days.

During preliminary investigation, the police found that the woman who was suffering from asthma died due to overdose of medicines, which were found near her bed. “We found out that she died due to overdose of medicines she was using. No foul play was established during preliminary investigation.

She had a valid visa and was in relationship with the Nigerian man,” said Golconda Inspector, Md Khaleel Pasha.The police registered the case under Section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death) and left Albert after questioning. The body of Linda was sent for post-mortem Osmania General Hospital.
