Chain-snatcher gets seven-year jail

A chain snatching offender hailing from Bidar was on Tuesday convicted and sentenced to seven years of simple imprisonment and also penalised Rs 10,000 by the 16th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: A chain snatching offender hailing from Bidar was on Tuesday convicted and sentenced to seven years of simple imprisonment and also penalised Rs 10,000 by the 16th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
Baqar Akram Ali alias Babar (32), was involved in 102 chain snatching cases in Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits. He was arrested and detained under Preventive Detention Act by the Amberpet police in August last year. The court said the prosecution had proved the case against the offender.
