Hyderabad: Selfie-craze teenager met with tragic end at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Majit Choudhary, the 18-year-old native of Bihar, died allegedly of electrocution at the Butterfly Park while attempting to take a selfie. On Tuesday afternoon, Manjit, who has been living in Jiyaguda for quite some years, visited the zoo along with his family members. They had a jolly good time in the zoo. The tragic struck when Majit went in the waterfall area which is nearer to the prehistoric animals’ park.

“Manjit suddenly went into the ‘No Entry Zone’ to take a selfie, at the Butterfly Park. He managed to climb a slippery rock, lost balance and fell into the one feet deep water,” said a zoo official. His family members pulled him out. The security personnel rushed to the spot and saw Manjit unconscious. “Majit was rushed to the zoo clinic and the doctors there found his pulse going down. His family was advised him to be taken to a hospital for treatment,” the officials said.

The zoo security accompanied Majit’s family members in a four-wheeler to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.“It is an unfortunate incident. We deeply condemn the rumours that he (Manjit) died on the spot after getting electrocuted or drowning. However, facts will be made clear when the post-mortem report comes,” the zoo officials said adding fencing would be raised all along the water fall to prevent such unfortunate incidents in future.
