Woman kills husband for suspecting fidelity
A 42-year-old woman working in a private college stabbed her husband to death on Saturday for harassing her by suspecting her fidelity.
Hyderabad: A 42-year-old woman working in a private college stabbed her husband to death on Saturday for harassing her by suspecting her fidelity.
Vijaya Lakshmi (42), working in a college in Hyderabad was married to one Gangadhar of Nizamabad and the couple moved to Hyderabad in 2006 and started living in Nallakunta.
During the wee hours on Saturday, Lakshmi stabbed her husband in abdomen while he was sleeping and killed him. The woman later surrendered before the Nallakunta police.
Nallakunta police said Vijaya Lakshmi came to the police station at about 3.30 am and confessed to have killed her husband with a knife used in kitchen.
She surrendered along with the knife and told that she could not bear the harassment and killed her husband, the police said. The woman told police that she was harassed chronically by her unemployed husband and he used to beat her almost daily after
getting drunk.
He also suspected her fidelity towards him, the police said quoting the woman. Nallakunta Inspector S Santosh Kumar said the woman has been arrested on charges of murder and was produced in the court.
