As many as 24 motorists in Hyderabad were booked for indulging in rash, negligent and dangerous driving on busy city roads. The City Traffic Police said a special drive was conducted in Jubilee Hills on Saturday night from 10 pm to 1 am. During the drive, as many as 22 bikes, all of high-speed bikes and two cars of BMW make were detained and cases were booked against the errant motorists. 

Hyderabad: As many as 24 motorists in Hyderabad were booked for indulging in rash, negligent and dangerous driving on busy city roads. The City Traffic Police said a special drive was conducted in Jubilee Hills on Saturday night from 10 pm to 1 am. During the drive, as many as 22 bikes, all of high-speed bikes and two cars of BMW make (sports edition) were detained and cases were booked against the errant motorists.

“The police said the cars were of 1,100 CC and 3,500 CC and the bikes were also of very high capacity. The riders were very negligent and driving dangerously on the roads causing inconvenience to the fellow motorists. The police decided not to not spare the errant riders and special drives are part of measures to curb racings,” said traffic police.

It may be recalled that on Friday night, about 14 vehicles including five cars were detained by the traffic police at Jubilee Hills for indulging in racing. The police said the motorists were all sent to Traffic Institute for counselling.
