Visakhapatnam: Two teenagers died on the spot and four others sustained injuries, two of them seriously, when the car in which they were travelling rammed into huge tree near Sector-I at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Township area in the city in the wee hours of Wednesday. The dead were identified as P Appalaraju (25), a resident of Gajuwaka area and U Datteswara Rao (20) alias Dilleswara Rao, a native of Srikakulam.

The police said that six persons were returning to Gajuwaka after attending a local deity festival at Ramagiri area under Atchutapuram mandal in the district. The incident took place around 3.10 am. Critically injured two persons were shifted to a corporate hospital in the city. The police registered a case and are investigating.

Man kills wife Vizianagaram: A person, suspecting fidelity of his wife, killed her by beating on head with an iron rod in the wee hours of Wednesday. Deputy Superintendent of Police AV Ramana informed that Ch Geetha (32) was married to Chinna (36) 10 years ago.

They both were living at Kolagatla street of Vizianagaram. Geetha was working with a cottage industry as a daily labour and Chinna is running a noodles cart. Suspecting her fidelity, Chinna had been harassing her for the past few years.

Previously, she lodged a complaint with Two Town police station. Later, he agreed that he would take care of her and would maintain good relation too. But he started harassing her again. On Wednesday, he lost his control and beaten her on head with an iron rod. Geetha is seriously injured and later breathed her last. Later, the accused approached the police station and surrendered. The police registered a case and started investigation. The couple was blessed with a girl and a boy.
