UGC NET held peacefully
UGC NET Held Peacefully. A total of 13,805 students have appeared for University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) which was held on Sunday.
Hyderabad: A total of 13,805 students have appeared for University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) which was held on Sunday. The examination was held in two sessions from 9.30 am to 12 pm and 1.30 pm to 4 pm in 31 centres across Telangana region. The University Grants Commission appointed 16 observers while Osmania University appointed 15 to monitor the examination in the region.
A total of 19,882 candidates registered in 56 subjects from Telangana region. Of the total, 13,103 male and 6,779 female candidates applied for the examination. The coordinator of the exam for Osmania University region, Prof. B Rajeswara Reddy said that the examination was conducted peacefully in all the centres.
NET has become the eligibility for a person to join college/university as assistant professor or as junior research fellowship (JRF). The UGC conducts the NET twice in a year.
