Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Students came out with flying colours in the junior and the senior intermediate results declared on Friday. Despite their humble backgrounds, the students emerged as top scorers in M.PC, Bi.PC, CEC, MEC and HEC streams. Poverty didn’t hinder these students’ dreams of making it big in exams.

TSWREIS Sr Intermediate Results - Highlights

•Average pass percentage 86.5

•A total of 23 institutions

secured 100% results and 57 institutions above 90% results

•B Sreevani of TSWRS Jaffergadh scored 985 marks in MPC stream

•B. Anusha from TSWRS Khammam secured 984 in Bi.PC stream

•V Akhilabai from TSWRS Medchal – 952 marks in M.E.C

•B Swetha of TTWRS COE Warangal scored 989 marks in MPC stream

•B. Ganesh, IIT Rajendra Nagar scored 986 marks in Bi.PC stream

•V.Veena Kumari of Ankampalem college secured 915 marks in CEC

•D.Vimalatha, Sudimalla – 919 marks in HEC

B. Swetha Tiny Tribal Thanda to Top Scorer

B Swetha comes from a tiny tribal hamlet in Miryalaguda. She secured 989 marks in MPC stream. “I am very aware of the plight of poor communities in the country”, says Swetha, from tribal Welfare Centre of Excellence Warangal. Her dream is to become an IAS officer and provide justice for voiceless communities.

B Sreevani, Social Welfare School, Jaffergadh

B Sreevani hails from Thatikonda rural village in Jangaon district. Her mother is bedridden and father works as an agricultural labourer to eke out a living. Joining TSWR Jaffergadh school was a turning point in her life. Undeterred by abject poverty and unfavourable circumstances, she secured 985 marks in MPC stream. She proved that poverty is not an impediment to achieving top marks.

She plans to make it to one of the prestigious IIT colleges. The Secretary, Dr RS Praveen Kumar thanked the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the ministers Jagadish Reddy and Chandulal for their guidance and support. Dr Kumar congratulated the students for their remarkable feat in intermediate exams.

The secretary heaped praise on the teachers for their selfless efforts in imparting quality education in social and tribal welfare residential educational institutions. The entire credit goes to students and teachers for their hard work and commitment, remarked Secretary.
