Hyderabad: The Southwest Monsoon has been active over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the last 24 hours and the Metrological department predicts heavy rainfall for next three days across the two Telugu states.

Denizens woke up to a wet Sunday as rain lashed several parts of the city, including Malakjgiri, Marredpally, Amberpet, Saidabad and Tirumalagiri, Rajendranagar, Uppal, Balanagar, Khairatabad and Nampally areas.

Rains resulted in problems for those who wanted to visit tank bund to see the immersion of Ganesh idols and also those who were taking out processions carrying Ganesh idols for the immersion.

The police and GHMC officials swung into action and made all-out efforts to clear water logging at various places. Weather office predicts that the sky will remain mostly cloudy till Wednesday in Hyderabad. Bhadrachalam recorded the maximum rainfall of 117cm in Telangana and Nalgonda recorded only 77cm.
