Kurnool: Emergency 108 vehicles should be parked at vantage points in the mandals to make them easily reachable to the nearest village at the time of emergency, District Collector C Sudarsan Reddy said here on Tuesday while addressing the emergency services committee at the Collectorate. District Judge Basavaiah, Additional SP Venkataratnam, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Narasimhulu, 108n services regional manager Rajendra Prasad participated.

District Judge Basavaiah released a book 'Emergency Medical Care-April 2013' on 108 Services in this connection. Regional manager Rajendra Prasad said that 34 emergency vehicles were working in the district and one ambulance was available for every 1.25 lakh population. He said that 108 vehicles have been transporting at least 100 people to the hospital in emergency conditions. The vehicles have been transporting 38 pregnant women to the hospitals everyday and the women and child were transport back home after delivery. He said that the 108 vehicle would rush in 20 minutes if the call came from urban areas and 24 minutes in the case of rural areas extending all types of emergency services by the competent medical staff. Motor Vehicle inspector Ramana, RTC officials, doctors and others were present.
