Judiciary would decide legality of Jagan arrest

Guntur: Refusing to comment over the allegations leveled by the politicians, CBI joint director Lakshminarayana said here on Thursday that the judiciary would decide whether the arrest of Jagan was legal or not.

Talking to newsmen he said that the illegal assets case against Jagan would be decided by the judiciary. He said that investigation into the illegal assets was going on and after the inquiry was completed charge sheet would be filed in the court. "There is no time limit for filing the charge sheet," he made it clear.

The high profile joint director was here to participate in the programme on 'awareness on total sanitation' organised by the Guntur Municipal Corporation. He had also participated in various programmes in the city. When asked to comment on the allegations against him by the politicians, he said with a smile it would be better to ask those persons. "I am just doing my job," he said. The guidelines regarding the investigation issued by the Supreme Court were in the website and anybody could access them, he said.

He said that Pragati village in West Godavari district was an exemplary village for the country. He said that he was flabbergasted to witness not even a single mosquito in the village. "Let us take such villages exemplary to achieve development," he said. He suggested to district collector Suresh Kumar to set a deadline of two or three months to achieve exemplary status to Guntur.
