Nidamarru (Guntur): Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu vowed here on Friday to fight till the Congress was routed in the State. Addressing a gathering here, he promised to stand by the Telugu people. The Congress had always neglected the Telugu people. The Telugus got recognition only after NTR launching the TDP. He said rulers in Delhi had realised the power of Telugus with the TDP proving its strength.

Naidu alleged that the Congress had planned division of the State to weaken the Telugus and the TDP. He asked the people to see through the ‘conspiracy’ and suggested that everyone should become ‘Kondaveeti Simham’, ‘Bobbilipuli’ and ‘Justice Chowdary’ (all successful NTR films) and teach a fitting lesson to the Congress. The TDP chief claimed that the Congress was planning merger of the TRS and YSRCP before the elections.

Naidu charged the Congress with failure to protect the country from Pakistani and Chinese incursions. Nor could the Centre do anything about the sliding rupee. He promised to solve all problems in six months if people empowered him. He addressed a gathering at Mangalagiri, where he was offered a bullock-cart ride. Naidu blamed Chief Minister N Kiran Reddy and APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana for the present crisis in the State. Meanwhile, the Guntur police booked cases against five YSRCP activists for attempting to attack Naidu on Thursday night at Garikapadu by hurling footwear. They arrested four youth.

Agitators block convoy

Mangalagiri: Several NGOs and Samaiky- andhra supporters allegedly tried to stop the convoy of Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu when it reached here on Friday. Holding placards and banners, they raised slogans demanding withdrawal of the TDP’s letter on Telangana and opposing Naidu’s proposal for releasing Rs.5 lakh crore to develop the second capital. Following their demonstration, Naidu’s vehicle was stopped for some time. The police called the NGOs aside and allowed them to submit a representation to Naidu.
