The crow cried. She could not drive away the snake. “How can I save the eggs?" thought she. The crow saw a necklace lying on the veranda of a king’s palace.
She snatched the necklace. She flew off with it. The palace servants saw her. They chased the crow withsticks. The crow went to the snake pit. She dropped the necklace into it.
The servants saw the necklace falling. So they dug up the pit with iron bars. The snake came out hissing. The servants killed it at once with the bars.
They got the necklace back. The crow was now happy.
