According to the latest reports, the Andhra Pradesh government is planning to extend the Vijayawada Metro to other places in the capital region. Officials are planning to implement it in the second stage of the metro project.

In the first phase, two corridors will start from Pandit Nehru Bus Station. Officials arrived at an initial decision that the link to the capital should be connected from here. A bridge will be constructed from the bus station till Tadeplly over the Krishna river for the purpose. From Seetanagaram Hill, the Metro Rail would be constructed, which would be extended to Thulluru region. More clarity will emerge once Singapore companies submit the master plan on the State capital.

The first phase 13 km Eluru road corridor will be extended to another 7 km till Gannavaram Airport in the second phase. The State government is planning to make the Metro Rail beneficial as a network to Vijayawada, Guntur, Mangalagiri, and Tenali.

A survey for stations for the Metro Rail will soon be conducted. Already topographical survey has been done.
Consultancy for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation sent the survey. Should Metro Rail project advisor Sridharan give the green signal to it, a comprehensive survey would be conducted.
