Vizag Passport Office to serve Krishna, Guntur & Yanam

Krishna and Guntur districts will now come under the Visakhapatnam Passport Office limits from May 5. This was announced by the NLP Chowdary Passport Officer, Visakhapatnam. As soon as Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated, Ministry of External Affairs decided to re-align the districts between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad passport offices.

As part of the exercise, Guntur and Krishna, in addition to Yanam, will be realigned and mapped to Passport Office in Visakhapatnam from May 5. Passport applicants from these districts may choose either of the Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) of Vijayawada or Visakhapatnam while registering on the agency’s portal.

The passports of applicants will accordingly be printed and issued from Passport Office, Visakhapatnam. The Visakhapatnam branch, with its two PSKs in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, will cover the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Yanam.

Passport services to applicants from rest of the districts viz. Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur districts, will continue to be rendered by PSK Tirupati under the PO Hyderabad until further orders. The PSKs in Hyderabad and Nizamabad will continue to cater to the districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Nizamabad, Warangal, Rangareddy, Khammam, Mahbubunagar and Nalgonda of Telangana State.
