Remembering messiah of the downtrodden. To mark the 30th death anniversary of Puchalapalli Sundarayya, a founding member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), a programme was organised by the party at Besant Road on Tuesday.

To mark the 30th death anniversary of Puchalapalli Sundarayya, a founding member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), a programme was organised by the party at Besant Road on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, CPM city secretary Ch Babu Rao said, “Sundarayya was committed towards the poor, landless and downtrodden and strove selflessly for their uplift throughout his life.” The secretary also underlined the need for selfless leaders like Sundarayya to better safeguard the interests of small and marginal farmers and agricultural labourers.

CPM city executive committee member Donepudi Kasinath reiterated the commitment of the party to fulfilling the ideals of Sundarayya. CPM leaders V Mohan Rao, B Lakshman, Y Subba Rao, K Venkateswara Reddy and others participated in the programme.
