In an event organised by the Andhra Pradesh Library Association, Rao exhorted students to cultivate the habit of reading books. He said that the library movement helped promote the literacy rate in the state besides increasing the level of socio, economic and political awareness among Telugus.

Notable speakers at the event include yogi Vemana, university vice-chancellor, B Syama Sundar, library association president, K Chandrasekar, and, general secretary, Raavi Sarada and others.
