What would be the outcome with regular practice of Yoga? You gain fitness. “Yoga is a state of mind, in a common relaxed position,” says M Mohan who is a Yoga instructor at Anahata Yoga Zone.
Stressing on the aspects of health through regular practice of Yoga, HMTV along with The Hans India, in association with home health service provider Nightingales conducted a two day Yoga workshop at Madura Nagar in the weekend where quite many people actively took part.
“We had a question and answer session where people raised questions about gaining health through Yoga apart from other aspects.” said Mohan. We conducted a technique for 20 minutes called ‘Yoga Nidra’ for attaining complete relaxation, he added.
G Nageswara Rao, retired excise assistant commissioner who is now a Yoga instructor, conducted basic classes for Yoga during the two-day workshop. “Breathing is important in Yoga. Yoga has never been an alien to us,” he said.
“There are 3,000 asanas in Yoga. We perform most of them unknowingly in a day,” he added. “Yoga is the physical, mental and spiritual uplifting of body,” he explained. “To provide a supporting hand to the elderly, we regularly conduct free check up camps,” said Vijay, sales manager with Nightingales.
“The elderly will any how gather at workshops, and hence we conduct free checkups there,” he added. Venkata Krishna, who is an organiser at the workshop, said, “We usually provide food like cucumber, poha, capcicum, beetroot juice, etc once in a week after the Yoga session.
Compared to oil food, this food is healthier after practicing Yoga.” Usha, a graduate opined, “I have been attending the session for the past 20 days and with regular practice of Yoga, I am now free from sinus and other breathing problems. Now I feel more relaxed.”
