Taking Telangana’s rich culture and skill across the globe, a book titled ‘Art@Telangana’ was released at the Rubin Museum of Art New York. The Consul General of India in New York, Dnyaneshwar Mulay was present among other art lovers and critics.

The book chronicles 100 years of contemporary art from the Telangana region. Having published the book in October 2014, and having launched it in several cities including Hyderabad, the book’s year-long promotion ended with the release in New York.

One of the trustees of ‘Art@Telangana Trust’, BV Papa Rao explained that the Trust helps to promote art distinct to the region. The chief editor of the book, B Narsing Rao; author Anand Gadapa, as well as photographer Sharath Reddy were all present at the event.

The Consul General Dnyaneswar Mulay, appreciated the efforts put behind the book and said that the contemporary artists whose works are featured in the book have now traversed from diversity to unity and from local to “glo-cal”.

He further added that every state in India should publish a book on their native art. Renowned artist Laxman Aelay was also present and encouraged others to also undertake similar initiatives to promote artists of Telangana.
