Hyderabad-based entertainment group that calls itself ‘Chicago Subharao’ are on cloud nine these days thanks to their videos that went viral recently.

With only six months from when they began, the group has amassed over 30,000 subscribers on YouTube and upto 60,000 followers on their Facebook page.

A brainchild of three youngsters, Prudhvi Raj Sampara, Praneeth Ramasagaram and Harish Dasari, the group creates content that has an instant connect with the Millennials.

Calling himself a “perfect Hyderabadi” Prudhvi, 25-years-old is passionate filmmaker and actor who completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering in the United States and is employed as one, too.

“I always wanted to try out my luck in Tollywood, but somehow I couldn’t and then came the idea of making short films and being hero of my own movies,” he shares.

“My first attempt for Chicago Subharao page was about bringing the problems faced by NRIs to the forefront. I received a lot of appreciation for that video, which added fuel to my burning passion.

Initially I approached a lot of FB platforms to post it but not many could respond except ‘Chai Bisket’. Later, I started a page for myself,” he says.

Prudhvi writes, direct and also act for his videos, while Praneeth looks over the website and Harish gives the technical support.

“The three of us sit together and bring up innovative ideas which will in turn target NRIs. They’re not only my friends but also my colleagues and my strong supporters,” he shares about the group.

“In order to make a six to eight minute video, we spend an entire weekend on it. Sometimes we end up shooting multiple videos too,” he says.

“It is only fervour that drives me. I literally have no holidays. I generally do the scripting during weekdays after work and shoot them over the weekend.

I have to mention how lucky I am to get friends who support me by sacrificing their weekends for the purpose of shooting,” he says.

“The best memory as of now is while portraying director Ram Gopal Varma in ‘RGV nee roommate aithe’. In fact, he tweeted it saying he found it hilarious.

This is more like a fun time for all of us to rejuvenate from the monotonous work life. If I have to look back to the days now, I can only find the memories that I can cherish forever which were made during the making of videos,” adds Prudhvi.

Their highest viewed videos as of now are ‘Gaana gabbilam’, which has 6.3 lakh views, and ‘Jio Jil Jiga’, which is made in collaborator with Mahathalli and has 4.9 lakh views.

Prudhvi is greatly inspired by Farhan Akthar. Overwhelmed by the response from viewers the young artiste is keen to showcase his skills on a bigger platform like the Telugu Film Industry.

However, his digital viewers need not fret. The youngster is planning a web series for the page!
