According to information, the tragic incident took place after lunch break in Pupwada district, 17 km from LOC. He resorted to the extreme step after relieving a colleague of duty.

Rajasekhar was the son of a labourer, Sivayya, who strove to educate his sons. The poor family was happy when he was selected by the Army 18 months back. He had been posted in J&K eight months back after completing nine months of training, his brother Rajender and a relative Gangu told The Hans India here on Tuesday.

The pain of losing the dear family member was all the more felt as Rajasekhar had promised to take good care of Sivayya, who lost his wife when Rajasekhar was a still a boy.

He was raised by showering all the love and affection. His kith and kin urged the government to come to the family’s rescue. Khanapur Circle Inspector of Police Naresh Kumar informed The Hans India that the army officials had promised to provide all the necessary assistance to the bereaved family.
