Ramappa (Jayashankar-Bhupalpally): Dr Choodamani Nandagopal, Art Historian, UNESCO Fellow Dean Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences Jain University Bangalore, discussed with Professor of Art History of Wesleyan University (US) Philip B Wagoner, who was on a mission to prepare a guidebook of Kakatiya monuments, and Archaeology and Museums Department retired deputy director and currently its consultant SS Ranga Chary at Ramappa temple in Bhupalpally district on Tuesday.
A four-member team headed by Dr Choodamani Nandagopal is here to redo the Chapter-3 of the nomination dossier - ‘Glorious Kakatiya Temples and Gateways’ - submitted for the UNESCO World Heritage status. It may be noted here that the World Heritage Committee (WHC) had asked the government to re-submit the dossier with relevant information.
The team members – Vidya, Soumya and Rahul and B Babu of Archaeology and Museums Department assisted Dr Choodamani in collecting information and photographs of Rudreshwara (Ramappa) temple.
