The ‘International Day of Peace’ was by the Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) through a ‘Heartfulness Meditation’ session at Shilpakala Vedika on Thursday.

Observed by the United Nations on September 21 every year the day provides a globally-shared date for humanity to commit to peace, overcoming all differences and contributing to a culture of peace.

As part of the session, President of SRCM, Kamlesh D Patel conducted the meditation for over 1,500 participants. The event was streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.

“Heartfulness is based on the foundation of “Science of Spirituality” and Scientific references to the benefits of meditation is the fundamental pillar of the technique,” said Patel. He spoke about how meditation as a process can help lead the individual to be more aware and accepting of the self and the surrounding.

“The spiritual technology of the ancient is on the verge of receiving validation by modern day scientific tools, and we are indeed living in exciting times, when humanity is embarking on a rationalised evolutionary leap through the confluence of ‘subjective ancient processes’ and the ‘tools of neuroscience,” he said.
