Hyderabad: The next time you plan to visit any of the offices such as Urdu Academy, Minority Finance Corporation or the Hajj Committee be prepared to stand in a queue as there is no facility to sit.
Visitors to the Telangana State Waqf Board wait for hours in the corridor as there are just three chairs available that are occupied by the police personnel. Ilyas Shamsi, a social activist says, “In most government offices one can find a visitors lounge but at the Hajj House it is conspicuous by its absence.”
Ali a regular visitor to the Hajj House says, “The chairman’s chamber was renovated by spending a few lakhs but no thought was directed for visitors.”
It may be noted that the Waqf Board has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the last few months. Recently there was an attempt to break open a door where records are kept.
