Meerpet: Seeking construction of an extra floor on the Resident Welfare Association Building at Lakshmi Nagar, Senior Citizen’s Welfare Association submitted a memorandum to corporator Golluri Anjaiah on Friday.

The separate floor would be useful to senior citizens to conduct meetings and other activities, the memorandum said. Meerpet area consists of a huge population of retired employees from several government establishments such as ECIL and from some that have closed down such as HCL, HMT Bearings et.al.

The members said that there was a need for a separate space where deliberations and meetings could be held on several plans, including beautification of the area, that the members wish to implement in the coming months. Association general secretary N Ravindranadh, joint secretary L Krishna Mohan, member Apparao, Division president Vanjari Praveen were present.
