Awareness drive on preventive steps from mosquito menace held
An awareness programme for students on preventive steps to get relief from mosquito menace was organised in St Mary’s High School, at Kalyannagar on Friday. Addressing the participants, Corporator Konduri Narender Acharya, who was the chief guest, elaborated on the diseases caused by mosquitoes and their ill-effects.

Among those present were Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Entomology and Malaria wing Balanagar team leader Swamy, Kukatpally Circle team convener Uday Kiran, besides staff. Swamy and Uday Kiran explained to the gathering how people get infected by mosquito bites and the preventive measures to be taken to get relief.
They stressed on the need for keeping the house surroundings clean and avoiding collection of water to check mosquitos, particularly during the monsoon when they thrives. “If required preventive measures are taken it is possible to check mosquito bites”, they observed. Among those present were school headmaster Srisailam Yadav, techers, Ward Committee Members J Chandrapal, R Srinivas Mudiraj, J Prem Kumar.
