Rahmath Nagar: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials, a month ago started the construction of a bridge at Rahmath Nagar nala, which is now in a deliberated condition causing inconvenience to the residents and shop owners losing business. Since past 20 days, the GHMC and Water Board authorities have stopped the construction work due to which the residents were facing a lot of problem in crossing the nala.

Meanwhile, on May 31 Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Home Minister Naini Narasimha Rao, MA&UD minister K Taraka Rama Rao and other inaugurated construction of RCC Box culvert over the nala crossing and extending the nala slab on Rahmath Nagar junction to GTS road. The construction work was taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 142 lakh.

Speaking to The Hans India a shop owner, Prem said that the construction work has been stopped by the authorities due to which the costumers were unable to visit the shop. Another shop owner, Pavan said that since was taken up by the GHMC, the business has gone down to 75 per cent and now it has become difficult for us to pay monthly rents and were unable to pay salaries to the workers. Several attempts to contact Rahmath Nagar corporator MA Shafi went in vain.
