Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed ire over Seemandhra leaders for proposing a New Delhi model for Hyderabad with law and order under the control of the Union Government. Speaking at the seventh anniversary celebrations of Telangana Jagruthi held at a private function hall on city outskirts, she pointed out that New Delhi had become the crime capital of the country because of the failed concept of law and order.
Even though government claims that security has been tightened, crimes have become order of the day there, she said. The main problem, according to TJ leader, was that law and order powers were wrested with Lieutenant Governor instead of the State Government. Do Seemandhra leaders want Hyderabad to become one more crime capital after New Delhi with their strange proposal, she questioned.
Kavitha sought an apology from YSRC leader Sharmila for comparing Hyderabad with Pakistan. Such statements hurting sentiments of Telangana public would not be tolerated in the future, she warned. Tankasala Ashok, Resident Editor, The Hans India observed that Telangana agitation was unique in the sense that music and literature fields played a key role. This facet is missing in the Samaikyandha movement, underway in Seemandhra regions at present, he felt.
Poet Desapathi Srinivas regaled the audience in his usual style mixing folk songs with speech. He lashed out at Seemandhra leaders especially YSR Congress leader Sharmila for making insensitive comments comparing Hyderabad with Pakistan.
Acclaimed writer and poet Nandini Siddha Reddy heaped praises on Prof.Jayashanker for keeping Telangana cause alive with his inspiring speeches and writings. His spirits were not dampened although he was alone in his battle for several decades.
