The dropping temperatures are testimony to the fact that winter has set in. The cold has left those sleeping on the roads of the city cold and hungry. Mist n Creams in association with Youngistan Foundation and Hyderabad Foodies Club have called out to the citizens to donate winter essentials and food for the homeless.

Those interested can donate blankets, woolen wear, socks, mufflers, bed sheets, etc by dropping them at a box installed at Mist n Creams, Banjara Hills Road No. 12, until Saturday evening 4 pm. Those who would like to contribute food (Biryani packs, packed fresh food, etc) can drop in the packets at the store on Saturday.

Pavan Vallap, managing director of Mist n Creams said, “Doing something for the society has been my dream and I am thankful to the Youngistan Foundation and Hyderabad Foodies Club for extending their support to our initiative. I request fellow Hyderabadis to come forward and donate their share of winter essentials and food. Hyderabad needs us. Let us spread joy.”

Arun Daniel Yellamaty, founder of Youngistan Foundation, said, “Helping the needy and homeless is our main objective and we are glad to do something for the underprivileged.” Sankalp, admin - Hyderabad Foodies Club, said that the club was delighted to be a part of the noble initiative. “We look forward to making this initiative a success and reach out to as many needy as we can,” he added.

Apart from individuals, some restaurants like Spicy Venue, Mini Punjab, 13 Dabha and Ullavacharu have also donated food packets and blankets for the underprivileged. All the collected essentials will be distributed to the homeless near Cancer Hospital, Banjara Hills; Cinemax; Nampally Railway Station and Masab Tank.
