The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) officials sealed and locked the Nartaki Theatre in Lothkunta on Saturday. The theatre was allegedly a part of unauthorised structures without a trade licence and was also haphazardly releasing drain water in neighbouring colonies, violating the provisions of the section 278 of the Cantonment Act, 2006.

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) officials sealed and locked the Nartaki Theatre in Lothkunta on Saturday. The theatre was allegedly a part of unauthorised structures without a trade licence and was also haphazardly releasing drain water in neighbouring colonies, violating the provisions of the section 278 of the Cantonment Act, 2006.

SCB CEO Sujatha Gupta said that the theatre had neglected the notices served by the SCB authorities. “The theatre had unauthorised fast food centre and violated several sections of the Cantonment Act and so was sealed,” she explained. The seizure was carried out in the presence of M Devaraj, B Balakrishna, Ch Umashankar, Gopala Krishna Das, M Ramulu, Mohd Iqbal, M Phanikumar, Md Afzal Mohiuddin, M Devender, A Mahender, and other officials of the board.
