The General Secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Tumma Vishnu Vardhan demanded the government to recognise the resource persons, working in ‘Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas’ (MEPMA) department, as government employees here on Thursday. 

Khammam : The General Secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Tumma Vishnu Vardhan demanded the government to recognise the resource persons, working in ‘Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas’ (MEPMA) department, as government employees here on Thursday.

Speaking at a meeting held at Municipal Office here in Khammam, Vishnu Vardhan said, “The women who are working as resource persons in MEPMA are playing key role in taking the welfare schemes to weaker sections of people by coordinating various Dwakra groups (Self Help Groups) in the district. It is the responsibility of the government to recognise them as government employees."

He urged all the women who were working as resource persons to fight united in coming up days to get rights. The Resource Person Union leaders Roja, Devamani, Sridevi and others were present.
