Wardhannapet: Mallesh, an Andhra Bank customer, was duped Rs 1.24 lakh on Thursday when he revealed his debit card details to a man posing as bank manager in Yellanda of Wardhannapet mandal. The incident came to light on Friday.

Mallesh said that his wife Renuka has an account in Andhra Bank. During a conversation, the cheater managed to secure ATM card number and PIN number from Mallesh.

Mallesh suspecting foul play, immediately checked the bank balance at the bank in Yellanda and shocked to know that Rs 21,900 was already withdrawn.

He immediately got the account blocked. But he got messages on his mobile that the amount was withdrawn from his account, totalling to Rs 1.24 lakh. Mallesh transferred the remaining Rs 10,000 to another account. He registered a complaint with Wardhannapet police, requesting them to retrieve the lost amount.
