The girl students of Telangana State Women’s Residential Degree College (TSWRDC), Pillalamarri have shown extraordinary talent in Martial Arts and bagged 19 medals in all at the national-level open Karate Championship held in Hyderabad on November 12.

Mahbubnagar: The girl students of Telangana State Women’s Residential Degree College (TSWRDC), Pillalamarri have shown extraordinary talent in Martial Arts and bagged 19 medals in all at the national-level open Karate Championship held in Hyderabad on November 12.

According to Satyanarayana Reddy, Principal of TSWRDC, Pillalamarri as many as 16 girl students bagged 19 medals under different categories of National Karate Championships. Among them, five girls bagged seven gold medals. While Supriya, Urmila and Shireesha bagged one gold medal each, B Madhavi and G Rani bagged two gold medals each in two different categories.

Apart from this, six girls who bagged silver medals include B Yashodha, Bhavika, Madhuri, Lakshmi, Nagarathnam and Arunajyothi. Those who secured bronze medals include Kamakshi, Maldamma, Geethanjali, Nagarathnam and Bhavika.

The teachers and principal of TSWRDC congratulated the students for bringing laurels to their school. “We are extremely happy to announce that the girls from our college have excelled at the national-level open Karate championships held in Hyderabad. All credit goes to the students for their hard work and teachers who encouraged them throughout their training,” said J Satyanarayana Reddy, while congratulating the students.
