Contract staff demand payment of salary dues
The representatives of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) staged a dharna in front of the government hospital demanding the government to pay salaries of contract workers of the hospital, which have been pending for the last few months, in Khammam on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, district leader of CITU Vishnuvardhan alleged that the contractors were behaving negligently with the contract workers and were not providing security gear like masks, glouses and soaps. Moreover, the contractors were not giving the salaries for the last few months despite repeated appeals.
He demanded the government to take initiation for sanctioning of salaries.
Meanwhile, the contractor concerned assured the agitating workers of paying the salaries dues by Saturday. CITU leaders K Gurumurthy, Talluri Ramu, contract workers union leaders Venkataramana, Jayamma and Kamalamma were present along with others.
